Default Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympic TV ratings.

It has been fantastic to watch these Olympics especially with it being in the Atlantic timezone which makes it easier to watch it live.

The Olympic ratings are a combined total of the CBC, TSN, and Sportsnet.

1. Friday Opening Ceremonies, Friday---3,365,000

4. Saturday Eastern Prime Time coverage----1,830,000

Only semi-related, but I can't believe how awful the announcing is in these Olympics. All of the announcers sound like they are watching on TV from Toronto, don't actually care, and never bothered to hire colour commentators. And everyone is using the Sportsnet philosophy if muting the crowd (such as it is) noise. I find myself struggling to watch many events because of it.

They don't run the cameras and sound I thought?

The olympics provide a feed that everyone uses and they comment ?

Yes, it is a master feed. But like everything else down there, it seems half-assed.

The commentating quality from the Canadian consortium is just awful though.

Agreed--watched Nigeria vs Spain mens basketball yesterday. The commentator (though, to be fair, was by himself) sounded like me, making random comments at the TV. It was comedically amateurish.

Also--can someone tell me what this "big mistake" was that Elliott Friedman made? People are consoling him all over Twitter but I don't know what the actual incident was. Thanks in advance!

The Toronto Star links have negative comments along with positive ones.
