Default Microphone Adapter or Audio Interface for iPad Pro?

Okay, I have a lot of audio equipment but I know absolutely nothing about the Apple ecosystem but I need to help a friend do some semi-professional recording or music production on her iPad Pro (Garage Band?) for an event.

What's the easiest way to get audio from a mixer into an iPad Pro? Is there a lightning port adapter that splits out to a 3.5mm mic/input jack? Is there an affordable USB audio interface for iPads? What's the best method that we can get locally on a short notice? Is there a simple cable to get audio input into the TRRS 3.5mm jack that normally accepts microphone input from a set of headphones?

Rode makes an XLR to lightning cable.

Kinda off topic, but I did video for my uncle's wedding and used this lav mic, and it recorded great sound using my iPhone.

Every mic adapter I've seen is terrible, every interface has worked much better in my experience. If you need any sort of quality don't get the adapter. Steinberg is the interface I'd go with, their smallest is under $100.

I will second the Steinberg. You could also try one of these:

Recording vocals on an ipad is not fun and you will likely always get line noise if you use a usb mic. The best is to use an audio interface to record on a pc then transfer the file to the ipad.
