Monday August 8
Well a good second day, with Oleksiak winning her second medal of the games and plenty of entertainment. We've got another full day ahead with events taking place in 22 sports!
Jessica Phoenix and Kathryn Robinson take part in the Cross Country Individual Eventing at the Equestrian Centre. The Team event is also taking place at 7:00.
Genie plays Kerber in the 2nd round... Canadian Tennis fans know that this will be an interesting match! This should be at 9 on CBC.
Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard takes part in the Round of 16 in Women's 57kg Judo at 8:30.
Canadian Eugene Wang is in the 3rd Round of Men's Singles Table Tennis and faces Chun Ting Wong from Hong Kong at 9.
The Men's Field Hockey Team plays their second match against Argentina, the team they lost to in the final at last year's Pan Am Games. This is at 9:30 on TSN2.
The Women's Basketball Team plays their second game against Serbia at 11:15 on CBC.
Canada takes on Australia in the semifinal of Women's Rugby at 11:30 on TSN. If they win they'll play for Gold at 4, the Bronze Medal game will be at 3:30... All games should be on TSN from what I can find.
The Men's 10m Platform Synchronized Diving Final takes place at 13:00, no Canadians in the field though. Also at 13:00 with no Canadians is the Men's Team Final in Artistic Gymnastics, this should be on Sportsnet.
Josh Binstock and Samuel Schachter play their second Beach Volleyball match against an Italian team at 18:00.
We'll see Medals handed out in the Men's 200m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke, and in Women's 100m Backstroke and 100m Breaststroke. Rachel Nicol of Lethbridge will swim in the 100m Breaststroke Final and Kylie Masse will compete in the 100m Backstroke Final!
Chances for Canada to medal today, really hoping for some great results!

top half of women's and men's table tennis is done. Currently the bottom half of the women's draw taking place. Bottom half of the men's draw and the Eugene Wang match will be in an hour maybe? will keep an eye on it
one upset on the mens side already, #5 from Taiwan lost to a Nigerian guy!
And one upset on the women's side as the #4 from Japan lost to a North Korean.
It's all happening!

Eugene Wang is on at 9:00. Not sure if the feeds will pick it up though as there are 4 tables going at once.

Kvitova is breezing through Wozniacki so Genie should be up in the next 30 minutes or so.

Wang loses 2nd set 11-8. Sets are tight but the other guy has a bit more quality.

Pretty even match so far, but Genie up a break. Her defense has really picked it up as of late.

Kerber's picked it up a little bit, but like you said SCD, Genie's defense is miles ahead of what we were seeing during her rough patch.
