Telus or Shaw install needed urgently

Long story short, I am wondering if install techs are self contracted and able to fit additional appointments in.
My long term tenant just left a place in which I filled for 2 weeks under the assumption there would be tv and internet. I was told someone from Shaw would be able to make it out today. After calling at 11 I was told I was the next job so I went to the property. 2pm rolls around and I am told it took longer but he would be calling me shortly and was on his way. 4pm rolls around and I am told it won't be until August 7th. Obviously I am beyond frustrated wasting 5 hours doing nothing but even worse is the tenant will leave (rightfully so) as they don't want to be without internet for half their stay costing me a good chunk of money.

Are there any techs for either company on cp? I am happy to pay a additional rate/side cash to get it done if it is on their day off ... Really anything to avoid losing the tenant who has potential to be long term.

Sorry to hear, but not surprised. When I moved to my new house, I spent 3 weeks trying to get Shaw to come to my house to install cable/internet. After a while I just gave up and called Telus, showed up the next day.

Could you purchase a mobile internet plan to buy you time? I think it runs off it's own SIM card and could be a short term solution.
