Generally I like Fireball Whiskey, rum puts me in a "happy place" shall we say. Vodka's always a quick drunk.
Had absenth last weekend, best to be taken when already drunk, it's not something to get drunk off of. Mind you lighting sugar on fire was really cool

After high school the smell of hard liquor makes me want to puke. I'll stick to beer thanks.

I'm starting to take a shining to Jamesons Irish Whiskey. Not sure why, but the 8 gallons I consumed over the weekend left me with little to no hangover whatsoever.
Stolly and soda any other time though.

Try the jag with goldschlager (sp?), half an ounce of each to make a shot. It's called Liquid Cocaine. Tremedously popular here, but I don't ever recall seeing it in Calgary.

Scotch -- Talisker when I want something really tasty, Dalwhinnie when I want something mild and relaxing.
Bourbon -- Labrot and Graham Woodford Reserve. There's no comparison between this and your standard bar bourbons - not even close to the same kind of drink.
Vodka -- Stoli (unflavoured) is by far my favorite. Can't stand the trendy new ones like Grey Goose or Belvedere. I'll also get Zubrowka from time to time.
Has anyone tried the Alberta Springs rye whiskies? I had a bit of one of their ten-year whiskies a few weeks ago, and I liked it more than any other rye whiskey I've ever tried. Great to see a Calgary distillery making a high quality whiskey.

Hockey Helmet Roy... er uh, Crown Royal.
I used to like sailin' with the Captain, but I'm not so fond of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum as I once was.
I like the hard stuff more than beer. With beer I feel the alchol taking hold of me after 2 drinks, with hard stuff it takes about 4 until I feel light headed... well ok, so that was when I was a drinker. Now you can cut those numbers in half... almost embarassing for a guy my size.

Love Fireball Whiskey. Gotta love that soft burning as it goes down.
Rye is definitely my hard liquor of choice. Always will be even though I have been burned by it a few times, I just keep going back to it.

SOHO - Lychee flavoured liquor! Tastes great! Especially if you have a blender at home, throw some SOHO in there with some ice, and raspberry juice!!!
SOJU - Sounds similar to SOHO, but this is actually a Korean liquor which is around 25% alcohol. Comes in different flavours... I like Mango Soju.
Grey Goose Vodka - What is there to say? Best vodka in the world! I always drink my vodka with Ginger Ale.
Alize - Some say it's a girl drink, but the Passion flavour is awesome with 7-UP!

even saying the words liquid cocaine make me feel like vomitting ... its a very nice tasting smooth shot and goes down easy but it packs a mean punch .. its VERY easy to drink way too much way to fast.. i learned the hard way
anyways fav hard liqour would be
rum (appletons) and coke
or rye (crown) and ginger is always good
