If you were building a house, what is your must have?
My wife and I are looking at building a house. We have land, and don't have many restrictions to what we can build (it's not in a planned sub-division or anything).
With that said, if you were building or buying a new house right now, what is your must have?
A few things we're looking into: - Pantry off the kitchen
- Mudroom off the side door/garage
- Ensuite
- Walk-in Master Closet
What little (or big) thing would you want to have?

Make the mudroom-laundry area as large as possible.
A drying room in the basement, vented to the outside for hockey equipment. I saw one where they used a trapdoor from the mudroom so the kids didnt have to carry the gear thru the house.
Good sized kitchen island. A second prep sink. Soft close cabinet hinges and drawers.

Winner! So much this. Only place with a wired connection in my house is the basement. Everything else, WiFi. Hate it. Curious about HDMI throughout, need to look into that.
On top, I would add a real wood burning fireplace. A sweet mudroom with a drain and big deep double side utility sink.
Triple car garage. At minimum, a hot tub. And a nice big workshop for me. Tankless water heater.

Ive always lived in houses with a man-door from the side of the garage into the backyard so if I built, Id put one in.

All of this is of course subject to budget availability...
Large and well laid out kitchen (including Pantry)
Well planned ventilation system, to ensure sufficient air flow with heat in the winter and cool in the summer
Walk-in Master closet with organization - shelves, dual hanging bars, etc
Main floor or upstairs laundry room with built in shelves/closets, cabinets, folding surfaces rods, sink, drain
Each room on its own power circuit, so one person doesn't affect another
Pre-wired CAT6 or 7 Ethernet to each room. Can still be useful for Wifi access points
Walk-out basement or separate entrance (possible future rental / grown kid space)
2.5+ Truck garage (a 2-car garage in Alberta is a 1.5 car garage in Ontario) with shelves/cabinets, counters, etc
