Stampede Roundup to move from Fort Calgary

“Fort Calgary has been a fabulous home for The Stampede Roundup and we have nothing but the greatest respect for the entire team at Fort Calgary, however, we've determined the site is no longer compatible to our event needs,” Caitlin Boyle, executive producer of the Stampede Roundup, said in a statement before referencing the 2015 X-Fest and this year's Oxford Stomp event which were cancelled due to the damage heavy rains caused the site.

Organizers also noted that the recent boom in the surrounding East Village "has created a tremendous new inner city Calgary community, however that brings with it a significant increase in traffic to the area as well as new sensitivities to running events of this scale in the area."

It'll be interesting to see if the other big festivles pull out from Fort Calgary as well.

Interesting...would have to think that X-Fest will move too as that site has been a nightmare.

Chasing Summer moved to the max bell Centre last year.

Prarie Winds Park seemed like a great success with the country festival last year - wonder if that will be where a lot of these will go?
