OK....now im convinced Bergevin is in over his head...always thought he was a really bright guy but some of his decisions just boggle the mind.
Shaw is a nice young player and a guy i would love on my team anytime....but 6 years at 4 million per??
Asinine.

The AAV is bad, but I like the term. Gets you the player for ages 25 thru 30.

Averaged 33-points/yr with the Hawks the past three seasons, so a slight overpayment. I would have gone 3.5M avg. six years though, that's a long time and this has potential to look worse in a few years.

Who would you rather have? Shaw or Frolik? (The answer is Frolik)

Let me rephrase. A comparison that Colborne's camp is going to use.

Maybe with another team, yeah. But Shaw is a way different player than Colborne that I doubt it'll hold any water.

Does he have top 6 upside?? He was touted as this great 3rd liner but you can't pay 4mill for that.
With colborne not qualified, is he basically not a tradable asset if no deal gets done??
