Flames Second Round: What happens with #54 and #56?

Prediction time.

Any interesting players at those spots?

Or does Treliving wheel and deal to move up or down or acquire a roster player?

I like Dahlen. Add either Morrison or Joey Anderson to that and It'll be great.

Korshkov
Bitten
Morrison
Macherin

2 of those would be great.

Abromov is the wild card that I would love but will probably be gone by 40.

After taking all the picks from the scouts last year, let them pick a couple players.

The way it sounded in Trelivings presser they seem quite content making those picks tomorrow. Who knows how this draft goes but already we've seen some big wingers go real early. So hopefully a couple of guys like Korshkov, Sokolov, Tuulola end up in the Flames range. Tyler Benson could drop too. Markus Neimelainen is one I like but with the jets taking that hulking Logan Stanley at 22, it seems a stretch that Neimelainen falls to 56.

This draft is the wild wild west IMO.

I always find the second round fascinating.

First rounders are either kept in order to shape your team, or traded for short-term gain.

Second-round are like common currency. They go though a lot of wallets. They can can be used to pick up a first round-type that dropped, add a secondary prospect or they can be parlayed into building depth via a roster player or later round selections.

How they are used is always interesting.

Any reason you think Allison wouldn't be available at 54? I think he'll be there at 66 if the flames want him.

I'm hoping 1pick is moved to rid the Flames of Stajan.

wouldnt mind : Clifford Pu, Wade Allison, Josh Anderson, Trent Federic or Jonathan Dahlen.
With Dahlen being a favourite plus would continue in this years tradition of drafting sons of former nhlers :-)
Sam Girard , will bitten could drop but less likely.
If any of boris katchouk, Rasmus Asplund, libor hajek or niemilainen would drop to us It would a lottery win !

also don't forget they have #65 as well. Could possibly combine two picks to trade up and still keep a late 2nd.
