Yet somehow they always find a way to get out of it and remain competitive. Props.

It's amazing with the cap hell and all that Bowman has always found a way to reshape his team and remain competitive.

Seems like a good trade for Carolina, but TT hasn't really progressed as a lot had expected.
What a dumb contract Bickell has though

I like that for the Canes. Bickell's only got next year left and to get Teravainnen packaged with him is pretty decent.

Whole different ball game for them now with the Kane/Toews kicking in.

Hopefully this is the first domino to fall in a very eventful and exciting lead up to the draft next Fri/Sat.

Teuvo with 35 points as a 21 year old. Good pick up by the Canes for taking on a cap dump.
Knowing the Hawks though, whoever they draft at 50th OA will probably be a 20 goal scorer in two years.

The 50th OA pick was acquired from the Rangers in the Staal trade:
Adam Herman @AdamZHerman
The Hurricanes effectively swapped Eric Staal and a 2017 3rd for Teuvo Teravainen, Aleksi Saarela, and a 2017 2nd. Take a bow, Ron Francis.
Ken Campbell @THNKenCampbell
Even after acquiring Bickell, 'Canes are still more than $8 million below the floor. Yup, this salary cap thing is working out just swell.

The emergence of Panarin and the plateau'ing of terrevainan (sp?) Made that sweetener pretty easy for Bowman. Good Trade for both teams.

TT gets a boost in minutes and special teams play going to CAR> I really like that core of Lindholm, Saarela, Aho and TT. Nice work Francis.

Plateau'ing of Terravainen?
Last season he was 50/50 AHL and NHL with 0.26 ppg in the NHL 12:47 ice time.
This season he was a full time NHLer with 0.45 ppg and 15:20 of ice time.
That's on one of the best teams in the league with one of the best coaches who is notoriously hard on young players.
I hope some of our prospects plateau like that.

Good trade for both sides, but I give the edge to the Canes. Gotta pay the price for cap dumps.
