Isles select McAvoy for our only pick

The Isles had a clear Top 21 on our board and figured it would come down to selecting Gauthier or Jones...both of who I'm not totally confident will get selected before 21.

We were very pleased to see McAvoy fall to us.



McAvoy produced at nearly the same level as Werenski and Hanifin in their freshman years and had 25 pts in college as a 17 year old freshman.

At 6' and 207lbs, he is built to handle the rigors of the NHL.

He is known for his speed, poise and vision. He makes a great first outlet pass and has been successful at all levels of hockey.

He is part of the 2nd tier of dmen in Bean, Fabbro and McAvoy that in my mind could all go relatively high.

Will be fun to watch where McAvoy ends up, but for now I'm pretty happy.

Happy to see McAvoy go 7 spots higher than I selected him, getting chosen by the Bruins at 14.
