Default Christine Simpson: The night I watched the O.J. Simpson Bronco chase with Gretzky

Loved the photo and wanted to share. Christine Simpson shares her story of the night she watched the O.J. Simpson chase with Wayne Gretzky and other NHL notables (Burke for one) at the grand opening of the brand new rooftop patio at Wayne Gretzky’s Restaurant in downtown Toronto.

Quote:
You may recognize a number of people in the photo. Wayne and Mike Barnett, his then agent, to the right. Beside him is David Langford, who was then the sports editor of the Globe & Mail. Many people on Twitter thought David was Eddie Belfour. Brian Burke is beside me, former skier Karen Stemmle behind me. To the left of Wayne is Gus Badali, his former agent. Gord and Lisa Stellick are on the left in the foreground.

Sportsnet TV personality. i.e. not an OJ Simpson relative so I could see the confusion there.

Its a message board?

Why ask any question ever as google could answer everything.

Why is this a thread? Could google the image and find the story...

I'm also really bored at work which helps...

Meh. Because I was bored at work too and thought it was a cool story and photo to share during a slow news time in the sports world.

Sure looks like him. But it's David Langford, sports editor of the Globe & Mail at the time.

I think Belfour is actually the guy on the left.

Wow, such grouchiness over what I think is a worthy thread. This is a cool story.

Now only if the goddamn link worked!

(now that's grouchy!)

The one in the OP wasn't working for me.

Oh yeah, and maybe Burke's incredible hair has something to do with drinking Windex?
