You'd think with the new arena available and the team starting the season following next they'd get some preseason games in

I can see maybe the Kings playing there. They have done the outdoor game there previously.

And it looks like they are:

Kings and Avs have held pre-season games in Vegas previously in the MGM arena.
There are 2 Kings pre-season games scheduled in the new arena this Fall

			Canucks: Rogers ArenaOilers: Rogers Place
 Leafs: Owned by Rogers
 Sportsnet: Owned by Rogers
 Rogers: Is Rogers

It's like Rogers is the hipster teenager of the corporate world. They pride themselves on owning all the sh*t no one else likes.

As a STH that gives no fudges about preseason games, I would have happily paid to have an Oilers-Flames exhibition game in Fort McMurray, with all ticket proceeds going to the fire victims.
A missed opportunity IMO. Flames and oil...what could be more Fort mac that that?

I would rather the Flames just make a sizable donation to the fund, take their tax write-off, and use the preseason games for what they're intended for: evaluating the new players and getting some rust off the old ones.
