The train I am on just hit a pedestrian. Their leg is caught between the train and the platform. Our emergency response is amazing. Less than a minute.

Ugh, I hope it's not too gruesome for the people on the train...or the pedestrian. If a leg getting a little messed up and stuck is his/her only injury, that's pretty damn lucky.
The news I read said fire crews were working to extract the lady. Serious question...how does one extract the person? Do they lift the train, move the train back, cut away the platform?

Depends on each specific case, but the answer could be "Yes" or "All the above" or even include removing the affected limb.

I would expect they would put a hydraulic jack between the trail wall and the c train platform near her leg and try to crush the train enough so her leg can get free.

Just a reminder that CP has some intense Search Engine magic (tons of eyes and clicks will do that). Should this individual die and the name be released, this thread will likely show up in Google searches of the name, and family members have a chance of finding it. Keep that in mind while posting.
