Default Heading to San Jose for Game 4

Hi team,

Just wondering if anyone has been to San Jose for a Sharks game before and if anyone has some advice/tips for the logistics of the trip. Best place to stay, etc.

Thanks!

I went to a bar once and got drunk there. It was a fun time, but I don't remember if it was walking distance or if we took a cab haha. Also, there was a group of 20 something Saskatchewan boys there who dined and dashed, and drank a boatload of beer. I was embarrassed to have chatted with them briefly.

I went to a SJ vs DET playoff game there. Was a ton of fun. Lots of bars around the Arena. You will have a good time.

We drove from Vegas and slept in our car so I am not too much help...

You can literally stay almost anywhere in the Bay Area. San Fran, Oakland, Berkley, San Jose, etc. It's a short drive to SJ from anywhere south of the Golden Gate.

You can PM me with specific questions if you want as I have basically lived there for extended stretches since childhood.

I'm there right now. I can't help with your questions but you might be interested to know how much buzz there is about the Sharks here. With the Warriors being such a big deal at the moment, I thought for sure hockey would be nothing but an afterthought. Not so. Lots of hockey talk and excitement around the area.

I have been to many Flames road trips but the BEST experience I ever had was in San Jose. Even though the Flames won the people were so friendly. Happy we had made the trip from Calgary. Told us 'You're Welcome for Kipper!' etc, etc. I think there only about 12 Flames fans in the building that night as well. We stayed in San Francisco and drove there. Very easy to get around. Probably why I am now rooting for the Sharks to win!

thanks guys, we decided to go to Pittsburgh for Game 5 instead. San Jose was crazy expensive.

I guess all the guys not being able to contribute because they were too drunk goes to show that SJ is fun for hockey

I went in November for a stag. Went to a Sharks/Ducks game there, and it was insane. The arena was just as loud as packed Flames Saddledome game, if not louder. The fans are very knowledgeable and very passionate, but not so much that it's annoying. The arena is quite a marvel, considering the Shark Tank was packed that night, the concourse never seemed overtly busy. It's so well designed.

When there's a powerplay, the fans go bananas with this chomping action with their arms. It's pretty hilarious and fun to see actually.

We stayed in SF, and had to take a long train ride over, so I can't speak as to where to stay.

I heard tickets are obscene though. I have a buddy that is going to Game 3 and he said he paid $950 bucks for his ticket.

have fun though! It was probably one of the more enjoyable arenas I've ever been to.
