Every 9 months. I'm in my mid 40's with zero cavities. I don't understand why you wouldn't unless it was a lack of benefits thing

We go twice a year (I think) in my household. I do know some folks who are very afraid of dentists and put it off, just making things worse.

I took a 4 or 5 year hiatus during university/first year of working. Started going back, had no cavities.
Now I have a bunch of cavities.

I've gone every 6 months, since I was a kid. I thought everyone did.

I've had a yearly cleaning from benefits from work but I don't think i've gone for 2-3 years. It just slips my mind.
I just rely on flossing and my Nova-min (costs $5 in Canada but $5000 in the US!) enabled toothpaste to remineralize my enamel

I haven't been in a couple years. I just don't think about it. I never had issues as a kid but since they took the fluoride out of the water I feel like my teeth are getting worse.
I have a filling that is chipping away now anyways so I'll have to go soon.

Yeah, once I got off my parents benefit package, I stopped going for a couple of years, but started going again once I got a real job. We go every six months like clockwork.
The dentist told me I have extremely strong teeth and that I was a good boy today

Since work covers it, I go every 6 months. It's always good to take care of your teeth. I get paranoid that if I don't, I'll need dentures when I'm old, and I hear you lose the enjoyment of eating once you get dentures.

I go once about every 8 years or so. No cavities, no stains, nothing. Great genetics.

I took a long hiatus from the dentist, and decided to get my act together and go. Now I go every six months. Work covers it, and my teeth look brilliant.

I go bi-annually. If you have dental coverage why wouldn't you? That said some people just don't care as long as nothing hurts as I work with 50 year old guys that don't do annual physicals or dentist.

Me and the dentist. We were on a break. He said, "You've got great teeth, you'll never get cavities, and your molars won't cause you any problems." I said. "See ya!".
After a while I thought, well, maybe me and the dentist should start seeing each other again. But I had no dental coverage so I didn't go. Once I did have coverage again, I was in a work environment where I felt I was going to cause problems for taking time off to see a dentist. By the time I got to my current work place, it had been so long that I just didn't bother.
Then my tooth chipped. I needed to see the dentist. I went. It took three appointments to complete one cleaning. I also had to have a root canal, and three other fillings. Now I'm going back to get a crown on my root canal. Zero appointments in 23 years, and then BAM! Seven appointments in 5 months.
Don't cut the dentist out of your life, folks.

I go every six months. Back when I didn't have benefits, I went about six years without going to the dentist.
What annoys me is adverts I've seen where dentists are encouraging people to go every three months. C'mon. We know you get paid out by benefits and it's not coming out of the pockets of the patients. But show a little integrity.

I've always gone to the dentist every six months even when I had no benefit plan.

I thought I had decent coverage through work but was paying out of pocket on my 3rd visit. WTF.
What bugs me though is the constant bombardment from their office saying I have to go back for this and that. Worse than chiropractors.

I didn't go when I was in University, and my first cleaning back was not fun. Now I go every 6-8 months.

I went about 12 years without seeing a dentist. I kicked myself up the arse and started going to a hygienist last year. I go every 4 months or so, but don't go to a dentist (had to recently for wisdom tooth removal)
I've only just started going to a doctor regularly last year too. I would just go to a walk in whenever I had the flu or something.

If you have a 9-5 job and insurance covers most of the cost, there's really no reason not to go.
I was unemployed for a while and worked for a landscaping company with no benefits and such so I didn't go during that time.
If you work in the arts or other industries like that, there's not much chance to afford the $500 bill every 6 months.
So when I have insurance, I go every 6 months.
