Flames announce 2016/2017 roster. Kulak stays. Bollig and Pribyl assigned to Stockton

Today, the Flames signed defenceman Nicklas Grossmann to a one-year contract. The Flames also assigned forward Brandon Bollig the AHL's Stockton Heat. In addition, forward Daniel Pribyl has been medically cleared to play and has also been assigned to Stockton. Following these moves, the Flames opening day active roster now sits at 23. Defenceman Ladislav Smid will start the season on injured reserve.

Yeah biggest news there to me is that Bollig is officially sent down.
Played pretty good for us during the playoffs a couple years back but never brought the same game to the regular season.

Since its not cap space we can bank, there's no point to doing it now I suppose.

Well if they are below the cap then there is no need for LTIR. They only need LTIR to exceed the salary cap.

I cant believe Grossman made the team, was it a Merit thing or did it just work out in terms of dollars? I'm glad Kulak made it, hopefully he isnt just the new Wotherspoon.

He couldn't have been sent down if he was still injured, so he must have been medically cleared.
