Flames recall Drew Shore on emergency basis
Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
The #Flames have recalled Drew Shore from the @AHLHeat on an emergency basis ~
Not surprising as he was scratched by the Heat last night leading to speculation he was recalled.

Will be interesting to see if he is given a shot on RW with Monahan and Gaudreau.
The last time he was productive in the NHL was with Huberdeau.
Flames still have 1 regular recall left. I expect they use it against the Wild.

Bouma is out there Polak.
This is going to be an interesting next couple of games. Shore is an upcoming RFA, and while they will probably qualify him, it's entirely possible they just move on from him since he's waiver eligible anyway. I think Shore is going to have to wow the organization a little if he's going to stay with the team.

He's battled injuries since turning pro, which is tough for any prospect, especially one who doesn't turn pro until 22 because of college.

Maybe that's the reality but man I feel sorry for these kids that get only one or two games to prove their worth at the NHL level.

Shore's played 78 NHL games. Not sure how that isn't a huge sample size.

I think this will be his last game (unless he plays against the wild too) as a Flame. I don't think he's good enough to be a top 6 guy and he's not a good fit on the bottom 6 either. The Flames will likely trade him to Vancouver for a better prospect this summer.

I think Shore is a good passer and I still like his defensive game despite not being perfect in that end.
But man, he just can't shoot. Shot Accuracy is a serious problem.

Shore is similar to Agostino in my view. Unremarkable average player easily replaced by a younger average or slightly above average player within a year.
