$5 million / 2 years. Anything more and we can look elsewhere for 30 point players.

Yeah, anywhere from $1.5-2.5 million is my guess, 2 or 3 year term.

I would trade him; value has never been higher. Probably gets $2.5 a season easily

I would have guessed a tick under $2.0mmm. That Bouma contract might make it a bit more difficult, however. I like Bouma, but Colbourne should have more value.

While the recent play is nice, still far from sold on him so I hope it's with another team.
But yeah, I think he gets 4.5/2yr.

$2m x 2 years would work fine for me. Just hope he isn't like Bouma was last year, having a good season in a contract year before failing to match his total in the next year.

I'd like to see him traded. Not a fan of his game. His value is high right now, make him a piece in a trade for a goalie or more established RW.

Hard to say really. He has been one of the team's best forwards over the last month or two but as with all player performances post deadline they have to be taken with a grain of salt. The team kind of messed up when they gave Bouma that contract as now every agent will use that as a starting point when their restricted client scores over 15 goals in a contract year. I think he's a player this organization needs to keep around at least until he's a free agent as that's the proper way to go about supplementing your roster.

I like him but at nothing more than 2 mil for 2 years. If he wants more or if a team wants him more, I think he could be part of a bigger deal. I read somewhere that the islanders wanted a decent young player with a contract they could control for a bit in the return for Hamonic. I think if the Flames pick up a guy like Nich or Hayes or another good young player, Colborne will likely be part of the return because he's decent and could still improve and he won't command a big contract.

I forgot that he was still an RFA. He seems older than that.

Bouma got 3 x 2.2M with a 16+18=34 point season. Very different playing styles obviously, but both are wingers with size and the points are very similar.
Boumas production seemed anomalous at the time, while Colbornes is more of a result of steady progress to reach what's expected of him, so Colborne will probably get more.
I'm guessing 2.8-3.2M year for 3 years.

I like how Colborne has played the second half of the year but the first half of the year, numbers be damned, he was one of our worst players night in night out.
Which Colborne is the real Colborne?
Until I know second half Colborne is for real I'm not sure I offer much over 1.8 AAV. I hate that his stats put him up with Bouma's season last year because Bouma was bringing so much more to the table IMHO.

I'd rather we just move on from the Colborne era tbh.

As others have stated, no interest in anything over 2 AAV due to how the first half of the season went. Who knows which half of this season he will go long term?

I believe Colborne has arbitration rights.
I am sure his camp would argue that he deserves at least what Bouma got. And I can't see him losing that argument with an arbitrator.

The Flames handed this guy opportunity and he just now seems to be running with it. After 3 years of a baby gazelle stumbling around the ice he finally seems to have found a role, letting him go now would be a bit of a waste.

the Flames can't use the argument "oops we were being kind of dumb with that Bouma contract and want to make things normal again"? it kinda sucks how you can take one mistake and perpetuate it. it's like saying arrg my stomach hurts from eating those 5 burritos...well I've already set the precedent, I have no choice but to finish off the remaining 5 left on the table.

Unfortunately, too much.
I would like to see Colborne traded at the draft as part of a package for a starting goalie or top 6 RW.
