Our family has been here not very long in the scheme of things, about 35 years. Anyone have Alberta roots that go way back?

My dads side of the family has been in the Brooks area since the early 20's

My girlfriend's grandparents just celebrated the 100 year anniversary of their farm. The MLA for the region showed up for the party (I can't remember his name off the top of my head) as did over 100 other guests. Pretty cool to have their centennial on the same year as Alberta's, and pretty crazy to think of how much different things were back then.

Yep. Part of Global Fest. They're at Elliston Park on 17th Ave S.E. $7.50 for tickets to the park at Co-op if they aren't sold out. Free if you want to stand outside the park.

My grandfather's family immigrated from Minnesota and homesteaded north of Hanna in the 1890's. My dad was born in Calgary in 1911.
