If Dallas and Colorado were to meet in the playoffs...
Who would you cheer for?
Iginla, or a 1st-round pick?
Assuming that this would be before the Conference Finals - if this was in the Conference Finals, go Avs!
But say that the semi-final matchup went Colorado-Dallas. Who'd you want to win?

Stars all the way. I feel very little ties to Iginla now - I still wish him well, but a 1st over a 2nd would be huge for us.

It's actually a really good question.
I want Iggy to win a cup and I think I'll shed some man-tears if that happens.
HOWEVER, ideally he wins the cup Bourque style with the Flames. He'd be playing on the 3rd line with the kid we draft with Dallas' 1st round pick.
So, Dallas.

It would be "nice" to see Iginla hoist a cup.
That being said, Dallas' first round pick all the way.

Dallas, without a second thought. I'd like to see Iggy have success, but I am not attached to him as much

I do not care about Iginla winning a cup or not, unless he comes back to the Flames and plays for league minimum on the 4th line.
So Dallas all the way to the conference final and we get the 1st round pick
P.S. Deep down I still want a LA-Washington final this year with Mike Richards scoring the Game 7 OT winning goal for the Caps, just to show the FU to the Kings.
Bonus will be Lecavlier decides to not retire and demands to play for another year with LA to chase the cup since they were so close, and LA will be screwed for the cap and have to let Lucic leave and we somehow snatch him up....

Stars and it isn't even an afterthought.
Partly because it is more important to me watching the Flames select a better prospect in the draft than watching Iginla raise the cup (and I love Iginla, and really want him to win), but also partly because barring some absolute miracle, Colorado isn't going to make much noise in the playoffs so it would be a waste of breath cheering for them.

First round pick easily. It would be nice to see Iggy get his Cup before retiring but not at the expense of the Flames losing out on another first round pick.

I admire everything Iggy has done for the Flames and for hockey in general but I"m a Flames fan and want what's best for the Flames. This shouldn't even be a question.
Now if the Stars and the Wild meet, I don't know if I'd want the stars to win for the pick or for the wild to win so Jones.....oh wait, it's still the pick.

Dallas.
Iggy had the option to take $1 mil contracts for the rest of his career and play for LA or Chicago or Pit or Washington. But he took term and dollars instead. No problem with his choice, but if he REALLY needed that cup, it would have been different.

Iggy was my 3rd favorite player all time and I'd still cheer for Dallas. Want that 1st.

I'm sorry but there's no love lost with Iginla anymore.
When I see him I just see an well aged veteran whose at the tail end of his career... and has had a good one at that. He seems happy on an average team...
Go Stars!

Definitely pick! I am a Flames fan first, before any individual player. Also, I don't think Colorado has the tools to win the cup this year, so it would be a lose lose situation if Colorado passes Dallas.

First two rounds: Dallas because of the pick
Last two rounds: Colorado because Iggy and it makes the pick higher
