Icon31 Blackhawks trade Rob Scuderi(50%) to the Kings for Christian Ehrhoff(15%)

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie Sounds like Christian Ehrhoff will be moving from LA to CHI. Not an official trade but likely to occur. #TSN #tradecentre

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie A few things about pending CHI-LA trade: it may not become official until later in the day; players involved are Scuderi/Ehrhoff...

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie ...there may be some salary retention. Should stress it's not yet a done deal but absent any last-minute issues, it "should" get done.

Bob McKenzie Retweeted Chicago Blackhawks ‏@NHLBlackhawks
#Blackhawks acquire defenseman Christian Ehrhoff from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Rob Scuderi. http://onego.al/YOiF5

Except for the fact that everything the Hawks touch turns to gold. Watch Ehrhoff find his old form in the playoffs.

Next up, Flames trade Hanowski for Schremp.

These teams will be going head to head for the Western conference finals. Strange to see that they're trading for each other's garbage

Erhoff couldn't find his Groove in L.A, I'm not sure what difference it's going to make switching from one powerhouse team to another. I like this more for L.A honestly. I feel like CHI is signing their own death warrant sending L.A one of their best shut down guys from cup years before.

I think the Hawks are hard-pressed to not win the cup this year... How do they keep doing this??!! I know this seems like a meh trade but the Hawks can surely get more out of Ehrhoff who will be playing sheltered minutes and gives them a great offensive option as the 7th D. Impressive Team the Hawks are.

No no, Hanowski for Drouin, but it has to happen now to make sense!

Hawks apparently did this for cap space. To my understanding, Ehrhoff is a ufa at years end. With bonuses coming to Panarin it makes sense.

I hate to go all 'Old-Time Hockey' but Scuderi is one of those guys that comes up huge in the playoffs.

Yeah, I am sure would want Regehr to unretire, but failing that he loves him some Scuderi.

Scuderi is $1.3 million buried in the AHL and signed for one more year. Ehrhoff is $550,000 buried in the AHL and a UFA in July.

You have to figure Chicago is throwing in a little something extra to get this done.

I don't understand trading Sharp for Daley and then trading Daley for Scuderi. Can anyone enlighten me as to why they dumped Daley for Scuderi? Cap dump?

I know most of what CHI touches turns to gold but that one is still leaving me scratching my head

Both of these players are perfect for the teams getting them. Scuderi is a hard nosed Sutter type player, perfect for the Kings physical style. Ehrhoff is a skill player has (or had) good puck moving abilities, perfect for the Hawks transition game.

Didn't Scuderi played with Drew Doughty when they won the Stanley Cup? If he was I think it just make sense since Sutter is familiar with him.

Edit: Scuderi played for the Kings from 2009 to 2013.
