Exactly!
Remember the Flames have a 26.3% chance of getting into the top three so in 4 runs you'd expect one good result on average, but with that sample size it's still likely you don't.
I'm not inept until I put up three more epic failures!

Depressing but when the highest odds are to move back rather than up that's what's expected to happen. 3 for me because it accelerates the Canucks rebuild and the Habs of all teams move the Flames back.

That top 3 is pretty awful but I'm still ok with a 6th. Tkachuk, Chychrun or Nylander. Silver linings, etc.

Just a note, if the Oilers, Canucks, and Leafs make the top 3, the Flames can't also drop down to 7th. In fact, they have to stay at 5 in that scenario.

I've been running it once a day as well, but I get a top 3 pick for the Flames every time. Balances out I guess.
I can live with that result since the Oilers don't pick in the top 3.

I've relegated myself to the position that the Flames will get boned when it comes to draft position and I'm prepared for the worst possible scenario.
Immediately after I move to the position that the player the Flames draft will have a bigger impact and be more valuable to the club then any of the other players drafted before him are. Including possibly Matthews.
This is how l sleep at night.

I used to mock these simulators. Now when I do it 40-50 times a day I use Tankathon. Get the Flames in the top 3 a fair bit.

I get them in the top 3 more than when I use the more popular draft simulator. Nothing like setting myself up for disappointment.
And I was kidding about the 40-50 times a day.
