Hey all, not sure if anyone is into this show yet (it's on HBO Sunday nights after Entourage).
I'd just like to put forward my opinion that it is the funniest freaking show out there right now. Definitely reminds me of the BBC Office when it first came out.
If anyone wants a sweet sample of this show go to youtube, search for "Flight of the Conchords Song" and click the second link (I think it says something like Dave's Party).
Basically they're 2 New Zealanders who are in a band called Flight of the Conchords along with their Manager Murray. Brilliant show, some amazing laughs to be had. I'll definitely be buying the first season on DVD (and I never buy tv shows on DVD).
The show has its moments. I caught most of their other show, One Night Stand, the other day on TV. It's pretty much just their witty banter in between songs, many of which are played on the show ("It's biz-ness time!").
"I'm the hip-hop-opotamus. My rhymes are bottomless. ...."
Love the show! "Murray, Present" lol .. and its great when there playing a "gig" and Bret starts to thank the crowd and Jermaine tells him "don't thank them for me" lol.. great stuff!
"There's people on the streets, they get diseases from monkeys.
Yah, that's what I said, they get diseases from monkeys.
Now there's junkies with monkey disease.
Who's touching these monkeys, puh-lease.
Leave the poor sick monkeys alone
They got problems enough as it is!"
Murray: I’ve told you when you’re in a band, you don’t get with your band mates girlfriends, past or present. You get in a love triangle, you know? You get a Fleetwood Mac situation. Although there was four of them so more of a love square, but no one gets on. Mind you, They did do some of their best music back then.
