Default Immigration Lawyers/consultants

I am looking to move back home shortly and have some questions regarding the processes involved in getting my mrs, a permanent residence visa.

Does anyone know of a good immigration lawyer or consultant? Any idea on typical fees associated?

Thanks

Usually for immigration applications. They charge 1000 $ per person.

Last time I checked a good immigration lawyer would charge around $3,500 for your application from start to finish. However, unless you have specific issues/problems it is very much a do it yourself process. Go to www.cic.gc.ca and start reading (not the easiest website to navigate). Also go to the family class forum section of www.canadavisa.com for discussion from people in your position.

If you have specific concerns you could book an hour for a consultation. This should be around $350/hr. We did this for advice/comfort on a specific issue and it was worth it.

It depends on the details of your application. If you are marrying a Russian you have never met who has a dependent child with a criminal record better get a good lawyer. If you are marrying an American with no issues it is easy to do yourself. (My wife is American so we went through process a few years ago. A very helpful website is www.roadtocanada.com. They have a discussions there on almost every scenario.
