Blue Jackets re-sign Ryan Murray (2 yrs, $2.825M AAV)
Rob Mixer @RobMixer
The AAV on Ryan Murray's two-year extension with #CBJ is $2.825M ($5.65M total).
Going to be interesting to see what Seth Jones gets.

Am I the only person who thinks that this is insanely cheap?

It's a bridge deal for a high-pick defenseman who has yet to really prove himself as a top-pairing guy.
Very reasonable deal.

Wow a deal that makes sense? Great young player that will no doubt earn a big payday once this deal is done.
Lol, big payday... Just short of $3Mil and that's not his payday... Stupid.
Anyway, hope to start seeing the bridge deal more and more.
Is the Bridge deal going to essentially become the middle class of the Salary cap era?

Makes some sense for both sides. I'm thinking he will be a hot commodity in 2 years.

Lots of talent and potential but - due mostly to injuries - hasn't really proven anything yet.
A perfect candidate for a bridge deal. Fair and reasonable contract.

Cheap, but with the risk of going Full-Subban at the end of it.

Its brilliant.
I've always maintained that unless you're getting top dollar every year a star player should want multiple, shorter contracts. Injuries are obviously a concern, but generally its sound.

Will be a steal if he stays healthy, which he hasn't been able to do for the majority of his career

Wow. Great value for what he can do.
Now...who wants to pay Kris Russell $5+ million?

Murray may top out as a #3 so I don't know if its that risky. Nice deal I think.
