Kings put Ehrhoff on waivers. UPD: clears.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Christian Ehrhoff (LAK) on waivers.
I think an overwhemling majority of people would agree not a it for the Flames, but a contending team should be interested in veteran depth who is UFA after this season.
His full season cap hit is $1.5 million.

Sad when these vets, who were really solid NHLers, hang on a little too long.

Trade Russell and pick up Ehrhoff would make me happy

The Flames really, really need to pick up Ehrhoff. Would be a fantastic get.

Wouldn't mind claiming him if they feel they can move one or two of our dmen soon. Be interesting to see which team claims him.

Mostly this one - but how much of that is a mismatch of style versus Sutetr's system?

He's had a crazy ridiculous contract, but he's been a good #3-#4.

How bad is it that I didn't even realize he was playing for the Kings this year?
Ehrhoff has talent and experience, but something tells me he would be more frustrating than helpful overall. He's bounced around quite a bit over the last few years.

dangers of big contracts to d-men on the other side of 30.... Erhoff is only 16 months older than Gio and has gone from an elite D-man to done like dinner in 3 years.... He was Buffalo's Top d-man for 2 years but then had a awful year as a 31 year old.
Wideman had a great year as a 31 year old and is excess baggage this year.
It seem that being financially set for life and being over 32 is not a recipe for success in the NHL.

Sure, Iginla...really countless examples of why his post was stupid. Jagr was just the most obvious one.

Works for me.
I can't imagine he'll get to the Flames. One of the five teams in front of us on the priority list will put in a claim.

I hope the Flames don't claim him. I don't think he would be an upgrade on Russell. Why is a contending team putting him on waivers? He also has (by far) the worst +/- out of all the LA defencemen.
He used to be good. He just isn't any longer. He is on a nice cap-friendly contract which LA needs for depth insurance, and yet they still waive him.

Yikes. 11 points and a -10 in 40 games on one of the best teams in the league.
Go for it Edmonton.

These are all legends of the game though. Erhoff is not.
