Icon34 Friedman: Nashville might be interested in a Flames goalie

Friedman on 960 speculates Nashville might go out and get another goalie to push Rinne.

Could see Hiller more than Ramo to Nashville.

Want a guy with no term left. Also thinking maybe Reimer for Nashville but then he goes get lit up the other night

Step right up! 2 goalies, no waiting! Bargain basement prices! We'll even take on your crappy contracts!

I kid, but I'd be happy to move Hiller at least.

The way I heard it was more that he was speculating that Nashville may want a goalie to push Rinne who has not been good this year.

It was Boomer & Pinder that brought up the Flames goalies and then Friedman mentioned maybe Hiller.

Seemed like he thought that Reimer might be more of an option. (On a side note I really think the Flames try to sign Reimer in Free Agency.)

They can take their pick for a decent draft pick.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is Hutton injured? Or just not pushing Rinne enough? I thought he (Hutton) was having a good season.

Rinne has actually struggled this season.

Yes. Hiller is a proven veteran and coming of an, ahem, sparkling win against Vancouver where he was really *cough* tested.

I will worship at the feet of Treliving if he finds a taker for Hiller.

Friedman was speculating that Nashville, per say, may want a goalie.

I hardly think this is a rumor, and it's merely Friedman throwing darts at a board. This definitely isn't a rumor by any standards. At least the way I heard it.

Sarcasm aside, Hiller was actually pretty darn good against the Canucks.

I don't think anyone said it was a rumor. Just something to discuss on a Monday morning.

The Flames don't want Flames goalies. I don't think either Ramo or Hiller will be able to push Rinne..

Yeah. Friedman was speculating that the Predators may be interested in getting a goalie because Rinne hasn't been his normal self. Malberg threw out Ramo's name and Friedman said, yes Calgary would be a possibility but he thinks maybe Hiller would be more likely. I read into it that he thinks the Flames would rather trade Hiller than Ramo.

I think it make a lot of sense. The last thing Rinne wants is to sit on the sidelines during a playoff game. The last thing a coach wants is to have a "back-up" try to instil confidence to a group during a 7 game series.

Obviously they would prefer Ramo, but I wonder if they would settle for Hiller

The Predators need to look no further than Calgary to see how 'creating competition' can blow up in your collective faces.

Other teams may see Hiller as more experienced and reliable. The only obvious thing when it comes to our goalies is that they both suck.

I think it's still a good idea, you just need to add some skill to the equation too

It doesn't hurt. But Ramo has played pretty well for us since he felt confidence from the people upstairs.

Played like complete garbage when his (immediate) future was in question.
