So let me get this straight. A columnist with the Times of London, who is well known to be a left-winger, a pacifist, and a particular opponent of the war in Iraq, claims (with no evidence given) that the UK is about to pull its troops out, and that the US is bound to follow. Also that his stupid, stupid, stupid opponents won't admit it was all a ghastly mistake and doomed to failure from the start.
News for you: People like Mr. Parris were proclaiming defeat before the war even started, and have never stopped for a moment since. This is nothing new or newsworthy; just one of the chattering classes filling up his column inches.
Maybe the neocons will feel slapped in the face if something like this actually happens. But an op-ed piece in the Times won't cut it.
