Default Hudler playing at "about 45%"

Sorry if this has been mentioned and I'm not sure it deserves its own thread but I couldn't find it anywhere else; anyway, after the Canes game, Roger Millions was interviewing Hudler and asked him about his health. Jiri was surprisingly frank, and told him straight up that he had been playing at about 45% all season.

So I guess that ends the speculation as to what has been the problem with Hudler. I wonder if it will be a factor in the Flames re-signing him or not.

I have always been in the camp that thinks another three years of Hudler on a reasonable deal would be a great thing both on the ice and for team culture. With this year being an anomaly because of the injury, I hope they get it done.

Suddenly there's a thread after I brought this up in the trade spec thread.

What a coincidence.

Whatever the percentage it's acknowledged he's been playing hurt all season. Is it something that will be fine next year or will this affect him for the rest of his career? This needs to be considered when deciding his value either in contract negotiations or in a trade.

Here is the interview being quoted.

If you think he's being serious about pretty much anything in the interview, I'd refer you to the "good game" he gives Roger at the end of the interview.

Jiri is such a fun guy to have on the team. I bet the fellas love him. I will be sad if he moves on

If he's having injury problems all year why would that be a reason to re-sign him?

I would be looking to avoid injury prone, older players.

-We played ok (4-1win is more than ok)
-Johnny stole a goal from Monahan
-45% (with a smirk)
-Ass tap with his stick.

Jiri was CLEARLY having a bit of fun with Rog.

I take that interview as him being at 100% health wise but only around 45% in his game. Also I have thought Hudler would be a great trade piece but I just like him too much as a team guy lol.

Love the pigeon call to Gio.

Even if that was a joke, and it may well have been, I didnt hear it in context, then he is costing himself a lot of money.
