coming from Dreger it likely means Wideman is suspended for the all star game.

I imagine the NHL just wants to review this further, and has time to do so. I don't see how they could justifiably give Wideman anything.

Would be great to see if Nakladal is an NHL player or maybe bring up Kulak or Kylington to see if Russell is expendable at this point.

Smid will get into the lineup now and earn his 12~ minutes along with Engelland.
Hamilton will continue to get #5 minutes and Russell will start getting 25.

My thoughts are they will hand out a sizeable suspension but dont want the decision lingering over the ASG.
Its like a high stick, you are responsible for your actions on the ice intentional or not.

I think this signals a long suspension. And I agree that regardless of his intent, Wideman is being punished for his irresponsible handling of his stick, and failure to account for the official.
