Flames lose 2-1
Flames started a little rough, but had a good push in the 3rd, just wasn't quite enough. Finish the road trip 1-3-1. (If I recall correctly) Wow, Does Dallas ever have a lot of Talent! Benn, Seguin, Klingberg, Sharp, and Spezza all played good
1st star-Jamie Benn
2nd star-Antii Niemi
3rd star-mikael Backlund
Hope it's okay I made this thread. Feel free to lock this

Not much else to say, but another game dropped. Well, they made it close and entertaining at the end there. I guess that's all you can ask for at this point.

Tough back-to-back, all star break can't come soon enough. At least we won some draws tonight right?

tough loss. Well played back to back. Like Hudler's game tonight. But maybe a little too late now.

That looked like a good team vs a bad team. We were lucky it wasn't a wider margin. 3rd period was a lot better than the first two.
On the bright side Hudler marginally increases his trade value.

Flames had just finished demolishing the Panthers 6-0 before this road trip. If I had asked you back then what you thought they would do against the Oilers, Devils, Blue Jackets, Hurricanes, and Stars, with several days of rest in between games, would any of you have predicted only 1 win?
There's lots of elements to the Flames game that could use improvement, but this team has the 2nd worst road record in the entire NHL. That is what is sinking this season at this point.

I don't care what Hrudey or anybody else says, Michael Backlund is a garbage hockey player. Ship him out Brad.

He really isn't, and there's no way that he's problematic enough for a trade - which will almost certainly not happen - to be even remotely near the top of Treliving's to-do list.

I think the problem with Backlund is, he isn't a second line player. I wouldn't mind if he was the permanent 3rd line C

Not much more we can do with this current roster. It needs a shakeup and the players seem to know it.

The script writes itself. 0/6 on the power play, 2 quick goals against and severely lacking in possession for a large chunk of the game. Frolik being the bright spot and good on Colborne for his goal streak.

Oh yes, he really isn't. Bad giveaways that lead to goals, stupid penalties (even if the refs got the wrong guy), kills offensive plays. I would rather keep Colborne at this point than Backlund.
