Default January 23 with ten games!

It is a busy Saturday OOT which includes two morning/matinee games. The Flyers at Islanders game has been postponed due to the massive snowstorm.

The Penguins won this thriller 5-4 in regulation time. Jannik Hansen opened the scoring 27 seconds into the game and then a shorthanded goal later in the period. He went on to score a hat trick. The Canucks had a 2-0 lead after one period and a 2-1 (Malkin scored) lead after two periods. Malkin went on to score a natural hat trick. The third period saw six goals scored between both teams. The 2010 Olympic goalies were in net. http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/hockey/nhl-boxscores.aspx?page=/data/NHL/results/2015-2016/recap70222.html

lol Habs brought fold out chairs on the ice, knowing this Leafs honouring segment is going to be a long one.

Turk Broda looked pretty overweight during the later years of his career.

Taking forever it's annoying
And what could the Leafs possible be honouring?!? Going back at least 50 years I assume when no one playing tonight was even born.

Screw pre-game ceremonies. Seriously, start this crap before the scheduled game time. I opened my beer already.

Damnit.

Tim Horton would have not liked the Leafs defence on that Desharnais goal.

The HNIC games all have the road teams leading after one period.

2-0 Habs and hopefully the stinkin' Leafs get humiliated 7-0 again.

The Devils have a 1-0 lead, Stempniak with the goal.

The Ducks lead 2-1.

Good news, the Wild-Sharks game ended in regulation time with the Sharks winning 4-3. Pavelski scored the winning goal with 84 seconds left.

The Panthers went crazy in the second period! They out shot the Lightning 19-5 and scored four goals to lead 4-0 after forty minutes. Cali Flames Fan, what's going on?

Soderberg scored a shorthanded goal with 53 seconds left in the first period, Avalanche lead 1-0.

Simple, The Panthers are actually a really good well-rounded team, and the streak earlier wasn't just a fluke. Back to playing a very sound defensive game, and using their speed, size, and creativity offensively to get their goals. 2 of them were admittedly lucky, being sort of a pinball bounce around that ended up in the back of the net. However, the pressure that led to those goals was no accident.

I'm telling you guys, get used to this, the Panthers are a good team and they're very young still. This could just be the start.

Ok, this is the 2nd night I've seen this now. Lightning down 4-1 with a face-off after an icing in the Panthers zone, they pull their goalie...There's still over 10 minutes to play!!!

Last night Quenneville did the same thing with 8 minutes left and down by 4.

Are we going to see this as a regular thing now when teams are down big?

Anyone with a 4K TV watching the Leafs/Habs game?
Apparently the first 4K broadcast; not sure I can pick out much difference from normal HD.

Well the Lightning are making a big push with the extra attacker. Played the last 2 minutes straight in the Panthers zone. If they score here it might start a trend.

Edit: Vasilevsky back in net for Tampa Bay after 4 straight minutes with an empty net. Puck goes back into the Panthers zone and he heads back to the bench.

Finally...

After almost 7 minutes of Tampa playing with an empty net, the Panthers finally score to go up 5-1 and salt this one away with 4 minutes.

Gotta give Tampa credit though, they really made a huge push here in the 3rd.
