Default January 20, just three games.

Just like Hometown Hockey that was on Grey Cup Sunday, there are no canadian teams in action for Sportsnet's Wednesday night.

It is a Wednesday night doubleheader
on and simulcast on

1800h

at

This is the supposed rivalry game, it should be titled retro rival night as these two teams used to be divisional foes.

This is a big OOT game for the western conference playoff race.
The Wild have lost four consecutive games and these two conference
rivals have met in two playoff series.

Dimitrij Jaskin scored, 2-0 Blues. It is retro night in this game as Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire are together in the booth.

Zetterberg scores on the power play, 2-1 Blues. Good game.

The Blues hang on and win 2-1.

After one period, it is scoreless in the Sabres-Avalanche game.

The Wild-Ducks game has been decent to watch. During the first period, Jarret Stoll scored to open the scoring after bad puck possession from the Ducks in their own zone. Later on, Chris Stewart tipped in a shot to tie the game at 1-1. It is still tied midway through the second period. Interesting statistic from the telecast, the Ducks have allowed the most second period goals in the league.

Evander Kane scores on the power play, 1-0 Sabres after two periods.

Tanguay ties it up for the Avalanche, 1-1 midway through the third period.

Tanguay gets the lone assist on the winning goal by Beauchemin with 32 seconds left in regulation time. Colorado wins 2-1.

It is still 1-1 in the Wild-Ducks game early in the third period.

Rakell scores the winning goal and balanced scoring from the Ducks as nine players each get one point.

The Wild have lost 5 in a row now. Dubnyk isn't the problem, it's their offense. The Wild have scored 1 goal in their past 3 games! The Avs win 2-1 in reg time and are now the #2 wildcard team. The Blues beat Detroit and they are firmly in the top 4 of the western conf.
