Thoughts? Seems like a pretty good deal to me, I'm tempted to do Market pricing for electricity and natural gas.

"It is to offer green electricity options, credit card bill payment, the “lowest administration fees around” and no-penalty cancellations."

More competition is always good.

I'd have to see what the admin fees are if it was worth it. With easymax I already get money back every year, so I don't see much incentive to change. But competition is good.

My easymax 5 year is up, so I'm doing some digging on this. Looks like Atco charges $3.10 per month for administration per service, compared to $7.10 from Enmax.

It looks like Atco is doing $100 in signup and $50 per year, which isn't quite as good as Enmax, which iirc is $100 per year, but the savings in administration makes up for that.

Plus, Atco says they'll take credit cards, which is worth 2% cash back to me on the total bill.

Am I missing anything?

I think ATCO is $3.50 a site. Also, Enmax doesn't do the $100/year rewards dollars anymore, I think some people are grandfathered into that plan or something, but new customers don't get anything like that.

How is 'green power' a new or novel thing?
Further, how many people actually pay the markup to get 'green' power??? The best I've seen is $0.01/kWh over the 'normal' rate. It is ridiculously undersubscribed in Alberta.

You're right about the $3.50/month, sorry, typo.

Interesting about the $100/year. I wonder if my existing easymax plan will get to keep the $100/year if I renew. If not, switching to Atco seems like a no brainer.

FYI sounds like Enmax is offering $100 to stay with them if you call in to cancel.

Just came to post this, so it must be universal. I had to mention switching to Atco and then was offered it.

Atco is offering free electricity and natural gas for the month of January for new customers. Enmax has agreed to match the offer but you need to call in and mention it. More details here: http://www.atcoenergy.com/content/atcoenergy/gift

Enmax also takes credit cards now and I believe Atco does too.

If you are with Enmax do you need to commit to anything for 3 years, or can you just mention ATCO is giving a free month?

I am an Enmax customer, do you have any more details on how to get Enmax to match the offer?

Thanks!

Mention that you heard about the offer and are thinking of switching to Atco and if Enmax can match it. They will. No commitment required. They give an account credit based on your January 2016 usage (for electricity and natural gas)

$65! Ha! It's only the usage, not all the other rates that are free. Thanks!
