I've had a helluva morning, so this will be brief.

What a breakout game for Sam Bennett. 4 goals against Florida, 3 in the 1st period alone, done against one of the stingiest teams in the league. That's one of those games that can give a young player confidence for the rest of the season. Here's hoping that Sam continues to produce, as the Flames are still desperate for some consistent secondary scoring. With teams keying in on both Gaudreau and Monahan more and more, it falls to players like Bennett, and the recently returned Frolik, to pick up the slack against the weaker match ups.

Roster Notes: As per practice yesterday, Hudler has re-tweaked his groin and is out for tonight. However, Michael Frolik is likely for the game tonight, but he could be a last second scratch, so stay tuned. I have some sources saying Colborne is scratched and others saying he is playing. Hiller is the confirmed goalie for Calgary. For the Oilers, Klinkhammer was returned to the AHL recently as Nail Yakupov made his return to the lineup. Zack Kassian will play his 2nd game for the Oilers tonight. Both McDavid and Klefbom are unlikely to return until after the all-star break.

Apparently OIlers fans are bitter about how their team is injury prone while ours has been "lucky" to be healthy.

FYI, the Oilers have taken 1090 hits and the Flames have taken 683 this season.

I think Ferland can handle Kassian just fine, having our top line out against the Kassian line would be completely incompetent coaching by McLennan. The only need for Bollig would be once Kassian has had enough of being railroaded by Ferland and starts acting like a buffoon, then Bollig can go tune him in. I'd speculate we see more of Kassian against the Bennett line, as Bennett is the hard nosed and most valuable player on that line.

Yeah pretty hilarious. We have been watching g thst tire fire get hyped since 2010. Flames also have 3 games in hand on Edmonton so that 3pts up can easily be 9 by the time we are done (or 11 if we win tonight and our games in hand)

If TM puts a guy like Kassian out against Johnny this game will be over in a hurry, Kassian was gassed at the end of the first period the other night, and he doesn't have the foot speed or defensive smarts to do anything. Plus I would take Ferklund over that shaved gorilla any day.

When I watch the Oilers play because of their terrible blueline they're a slow team. The Flames should be able to beat them outside fairly easily.

Look lets not be sadistic bullies and draw this out, mercifully snap their neck early, rip their guts out and stomp on their necks and get them to give up.

Then pluck the meat from their bones at our leisure.
