Johnny Gaudreau VS Safeway Score and Win
So seeing as Johnny is so awesome and has recorded some hatricks already I figured it is time to up the ante.
Will Johnny reach the elusive 5 goal game?? When?
Best case scenario is he has a a 4 goal game and then goes to OT.
The rule for those wondering:
Should any Vancouver Canucks’, Calgary Flames’, Edmonton Oilers’ or Winnipeg Jets’ player score five (5) goals in one (1) game (excluding goals scored during a shootout) during the 2015-2016 regular season or playoffs (as recorded by the NHL official game scorer)
Background:
Only 44 players have ever done it.
The most recent player to do so was Johan Franzén, who scored five goals for the Detroit Red Wings on February 2, 2011, against the Ottawa Senators.
Can he do it? Yes he can.

Well it won't be against Edmonton because they would skate off the ice and forfeit the game before that happened.

I wonder what Joe Thornton would suggest Gaudreau do if he scored 5 goals in a game.

I already called it in the Flames Edmonton post game thread. One day Johnny will cost Safeway a million dollars. You can book it.

Yes he'll get 5 goals in one game I am going for a WAG it will be in 2017/18 season.
It will be against oilers or the Canucks.
I think he'll have many 2-3goal games (15+) and one 4 goal game between now & the actual 5 goal game.

Scoring 5 goals in a game is incredibly rare. I think it's been 15 or so years since the last time. I think Fedorov was the last to do it.

Nevermind, just looked it up. Apparently Franzen got 5 goals against Ottawa in 2011, I don't remember it at all.
Edit: Lol right in the OP.

The chances are likely literally one in a million. This is the worst promotion ever. You likely have the same chances winning the 6/49 than winning this fraud promotion.

The last time I remember someone being close was Gagner in that game he got 8 points (4 goals). But that was a HNIC game I do believe.

If somehow miraculously Gagner can get the rare 8 points in a game, then Johnny can score 5 goals. 2pp, 2 even strength, one empty net (if not playing Edmonton). Easy as pie

i'm hoping for an empty netter for number 5. I wouldn't want some rule about "OT goals" not counting FTW meow.

I did. I would just like to see 5 in 60 not 5 in 65 because i hate those pesky rules and regulations. I am pretty sure that the person has to answer a skill testing question too.
sorry i was trying to be a bit funny but it didn't come across that way.

My aunt is an accountant with Safeway (Sobeys) and I asked her this exact question. With no more Safeway club memberships, how do you even enter the contest? I told her that since apparently people win vacuums and such with every goal scored, surely Safeway allocates a portion of their budget for these prizes. She must see these numbers. She had no idea this contest even existed. She's never heard of it, nor had any discussion about it at work with any of her colleagues. Pretty fishy if you ask me.
I'm 100% convinced it's fake. How is it that every game it seems to be someone in some small town that wins, instead of it regularly being people from the big metropolis of Calgary? Every name seems fake. Me and my buddies laugh at the names that pop up. Last game it was some guy with a Punjabi first name, then a Russian last name. Possible? Sure. But it happens every damn game! It's like their not even trying. I've never met, not know anybody, who knows anyone who's won.
My aunt said she is specifically going to ask her boss at work about this contest and report back to me. But I'm certain it's all fake.
