Wow! I am finally done my summer job. It was a lot more work than I bargained for, but I did get paid well enough. And even though today was my last day, I already feel way better.
Not working is the best. No stress at all. All you people who have to work, I feel sorry for you. I am headed back to school this week coming up, so I only get a few days rest. But school is better than work.
I know this has been talked about before, but what does everyone do here? And, what would you PREFER to be doing?

I'd prefer to be a student again in September when it's nice to be back after 4 months and the work load is light. But when it's the middle of December, boy I love having a regular job. I don't miss those all night cram sessions which last a week at a time for the final exams.

Student. I hate getting dressed in the morning.
I'm so sick of work right now. I work right up to school too. I should have taken a week off.

Excited to go back to school too. But still got a couple of weeks B4 UofC starts.
After 4 months of full time work, Uni is always nice to go back to. I just hate having to give up those nice big pay checks and live like a bumb again.

I wish I took some time off too, but I have to go in this week for classes away from town. Field school.
I am not too worried about December, I don't study that much anyway.

Student life is pretty good. My work load is never light, but I wish I can be a student for more than one year.
I just finished a 16 month internship term yesterday, and it occured to me that I am going to be doing that for the next 40-45 years. It made me shiver.
I really do appreciate just sitting back and having a few beers at the Den now. I cant wait to get back into school and get back into the game.
As for exams. They suck.

Exams suck.
But there is no better feeling than when you walk out of your last one to go get trashed.

School life is good, no doubt. Making your own schedule, goofing off if you want, etc....for me though, after about 16 years of school, I'm ready to move on. Make an income, move out, make a life for myself, etc.
only 4 more months...

I haven't had a job for about 2 years now. This past summer I did some side work for my father slatting 1400 feet of fence at 75 cents per foot. Took me about 3 days to do it by myself at 2pm in the sweltering 100 degree heat here (Florida), but I made a good $300 so I was happy. Also this past week I worked with my brother shoveling mulch into a wheelbarrell and then spreading and raking it onto several playgrounds at a daycare center/preschool. All 8,000 pounds of that (yes, Eight THOUSAND, four zeroes).
So basically I've done some "bitch" work to get myself some extra cash while not having a full time "real" job. Currently I'm working on finishing my associates degree at a community college which is why I am not working.
I do however consider myself a professional poker player, and I've made some good cash in the past 6 months, specifically most recently when I cashed out $300 and bought myself a sweet new 19" LCD monitor (I made another thread about that here as well)
My 2 cents.

hmmm...yup Id like to go back to school...maybe start right over at Grade 1. Man that would be cool to sit in one of those little desks with the flip tops...Id even keep things neat this time around.
I wonder if the teacher would be around 21 or 22 years old and a hottie? Wow...could you imagine that...Grade 1 and the hots fer your teacher?
Recess would be cool...Id like that...and starting at 9am and finishing at 3:30 would be better...along with Xmas, Spring breaks and all those teacher convention days...man...regression sounds awesome!

If I could pick I'd go back to Grade 6. Top of the elmentary school heap, still have recess and 2 months off during the summer. Yeah - that'd be awesome.

I just finished my BEd last month. It is very strange not having to register in courses for the fall. University life was great but I am so ready to be a fulltime teacher, and the search for my first teaching job continues.

Are you kidding me? I wish I can make a flux capacitor and go back in time to grade 6 like JiriHrdina.

You bet. I am going to enjoy my last year for school to the fullest. I dont want to get old and have all these regrets about not enjoying school.
Everyone that I have talked to in the 26-29 age group says they miss school so much and would love to go back.

Last I checked, I'm not in that age group - opinions of where you want to be change all the time...so who knows what I'll think in 5-8 years.

I would like to go back to the student lifestyle of drinking every night, getting up at 1 or 2 and then starting drinking again but I don't think that I could handle going back to school and having to deal with idiot professors and boring classes again.

I work for the city of Edmonton as a labourer. This whole summer I have been learning concrete forming/finishing, and have actually really enjoyed it. During the winter I drive a sander/snow plow.
What I really want to be doing is law enforcement. I am applying to the EPS on October 3rd if this year.
