only 2 Finns for me this year: center Julius Nattinen and goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen. Nattinen has 1 assist in 2 games so far. Kahkonen hasn't played so far, which is disappointing ... thought he'd have a chance to be their starter this year, but they seem to trust Veini Vehvilainen instead so far. Bummer.

Nashville is watching a few guys, and most surprisingly one of them is not Oliver Kylington. I think as Flames fans we all know that he should've been there!
Czech Republic: David Pastrnak, Vitek Vanecek
Finland: Sami Niku

The Jets have 5 players attending as far as we can tell.
Forwards: Anton Karlsson (SWE), Roope Hintz (FIN), Vlad Kamenev (RUS)
Defense: I think Sebastian Aho (SWE) was a lock until injury, Roland McKeown
Goalie: Vevhi Vevilainen (FIN)

Buffalo GM is trying to find time to watch:
Canada - Sanheim
Switzerland - Rod
Other near misses:
Jayce Hawryluk and Spencer Watson were cut from Canada. Jake Walman would have made the team by most accounts had he not injured his shoulder just before camp.
I had a couple of late Euro cuts as well.

I found one, that's depressing..
Russia:
Radel Fazleyev
Honorable mention to Rihards Bukarts who definitely would be lighting it up if Latvia was in the tournament.

Habs prospects at wjhc
Canada: Lawson Crouse & Travis Dermott
USA: Christian Dvorak
Sweden: Jens Lööke & Dmytro Timashov
Czech Republic: Daniel Vladar
Crouse and Dvorak are playing well, as expected. Timashov is a pleasant surprise, considering he was a late pick. He has 4 pts in 3 games. Dermott is tied for the team lead in points by defensemen- so i'm happy with that. Looke is getting minutes with Sweden and has a role to play, but they have a great team and he will still be eligible next year. Vladar hasn't played, but like Looke- should be back next year.

With the 2016 tourney in the rear view mirror, the Chicago Blackhawks would like to congratulate the following for participating in the World Junior Championships:
USA: Colin White - moved from the 2nd to top line and averaged a point per game. Was commonly the defensive presence on the Tkachuk-Matthews-White line for the bronze winning team.
USA: Ryan Donato - started the tournament as the 13th forward but gradually received more ice time and finished the tournament with 3 goals and 1 assist for the Yanks.
The Hawks would also like to acknowledge skaters that were considered for their respective countries but were mistakenly omitted from the final rosters:
Canada: Noah Juulsen - one of the last cuts and is already a favorite to make the team next year in Montreal.
USA: Connor Garland - despite destroying the QMJHL offensively, he was left off the team as one of a number of surprise omissions.
USA: Josh Jacobs - predicted by many to be on the final roster, Jacobs was the one defenseman that most thought should have been on the team.
