Icon36 Rangers trade Emerson Etem to Canucks for Jensen and 6th

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Emerson Etem has not yet been traded by NYR. Trade could happen today. Then again, might not (insert snide remark here). NYR working at it.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
If he's traded by NYR, a logical landing place could be VAN. Coach Willie Desjardins had Etem in the WHL with Medicine Hat. So we'll see.

upd:

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Etem to VAN is being done. Nick Jensen and late pick going the other way.

I believe the pick is 2017 7th rounder but that's not 100 per cent.

So Etem has been traded twice already and is only 23. What gives?

Not a big trade, but Etem does give the Canucks a bit more size. Something they need. Much like the Flames.

29th OA in 2011 for the 29th OA in 2010. May as well forget the 7th.

Seems like a pretty even trade.

Etem is smaller than Jensen. They've just gotten smaller.

I feel this is a good deal for the Canucks as Jensen was a bust and even if Etem doesn't work out no harm done.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
It's Etem for Jensen and a 6th round pick in 2017.

Not a bad trade for Van. They love to pick up underperforming players that have to clear waivers to be sent down. Vey, Baertschi, Etem

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 2m2 minutes ago
Jensen BTW was approaching waiver-eligible status. So, VAN did not want to risk losing him without a return.

According to who? NHL.com lists Jansen at 202 and Etem at 212. Wikipedia(I know, I know) has them as 203 and 210 respectively. Eliteprospects has them at the at 203 and 212.

Struggling to find where this 30 pound difference comes from.
