Default Your Holiday Drink Recipes

Didn't see this anywhere, so thought people could post some of their holiday drink recipes.

I don't have any to contribute and was hoping I could steal some!

Requesting a recipe using advocaat liqueur? Any Dutch people around?

Ingredients

2 cubes ice
1 glass preferably clean
1 bottle of Jack Daniels
equal parts rage and intent

Add ice to glass, usually only use two cubes. If you don't have home made ice go to the corner store and buy some.

Add Jack Daniels to glass to approximately one inch below the top.

Sit in darkened room, sipping while keeping bottle and ice close by.

Enjoy your self imposed manly stereotype.

Repeat until unconscious.

White Siberian.

Basically a white russian, but I never have cream so in desperation I dropped some vanilla ice cream in instead. It's pretty fantastic.

Similar to this...

Communist Christmas

Replace the cream in a white russian with eggnog.

Fireball and hot (or cold alcoholic) cider is delicious as well.

Also, putting Fireball in the freezer until is syrupy, making a snowball, and pouring Fireball over said snow ball to make a DIY snow cone is fantastic.

One of my new favorites:

New York Sour:
  • 2 parts bourbon/whiskey/rye/scotch
  • 1 part simple syrup (I use raw sugar to make mine, gives it a nice robust flavor)
  • 1 part lemon juice (not crappy concentrate stuff, either)
  • egg white (optional)
Shake, and pour over ice. Float 1 part red wine (Malbec, or something similar) on top.

I usually brew up some sort of stout for xmas, but I've been unable to brew for the past few months.

So instead, it'll be irish cream in my coffee for breakfast, and Kraken rum in my eggnog thereafter.

1 bottle (700 ml or whatever it is) of cheap vodka, 12 oz bag of cranberries.

Gently crack the berries and dump both items into an airtight jar large enough to hold them both. Swish the contents around once daily for about five days, then strain the liquid (cheesecloth, coffee filter, whatever) back into the bottle. Drink it as though would.

For me, it's not Christmas without a little bit of Hennessy on Christmas Eve. It's a really simple recipe:

1. Take glass.
2. Pour cognac into glass.
3. Sip congnac
4. ???????
5. Profit

Homemade eggnog and sortilege. Sortilege is the key.

Peppermint Schnapps and hot chocolate. It's like mixing candy canes and hot chocolate (obviously on the hot chocolate part).

The better the hot chocolate, the better the drink, but really the point of this one is to drink "acceptable drinks" all day. If your old lady (or man, as the case may be) doesn't like the constant boozing, you can hide it well in hot chocolate.

Like drinking red wine out of a coffee mug.
