Default 2016 WJC: Round Robin Day 3. Games start at 5AM. Canada vs Denmark 11AM.

4 games today with much better match ups than yesterday.

Group B. Slovakia vs Czech. 5AM MT. TSN 2.

Group A. Sweden vs USA. 7AM MT. TSN 1.
This game might be the most interesting game of the day and the result will likely impact how Canada will be seeded in the medal round. According to his brother, W. Nylander might not be back until the quarter finals after taking. The Swedes will get back Forsling, their best offensive d-men.

Group B. Russia vs Finland. 9AM MT. TSN 2.
Another strong match up. Finland's Puljujarvi impressed in their tournament opener.

Group A. Denmark vs Canada. 11AM MT. TSN 1.
Canada will look to bounce back after a late meltdown cost them the game against the Americans. There is a chance this might be the last time McDonald plays in this tournament.

Just watching a replay of the Belarus Slovakia game, completely empty stadium. No wonder they try to hold the tourniment in north America as much as possible. My Uncle flies over whenever it is in Europe because including flights, hotel and tickets, same price as going to Ontario to watch it plus get to go on a trip

Me too. Too bad the Spengler Cup is also on TSN--relegated to TSN 5, which some of us do not get...

IMO Ollas Mattsson is underrated.

Decent showing against the Americans thus far.

Ollas Mattson just destroys Debrincat on the boards.

Wasn't dirty or anything. Debrincat was losing his footing as Ollas Mattsson initiated the hit

OM is getting a ton of praise from the Swedish commentators. Really solid in his own zone, making first passes and playing physical at every opportunity. He is difficult to beat one on one. Considering his increasing role for Djurgården, he seems to have made big strides since we drafted him. Kind of wish I could watch SHL games so I could see him play on a regular basis.

To be fair Belarus vs Slovakia would likely be an empty arena even if held in Canada as well.

The tournament does so well in North America because they can charge a premium for ticket packages whenever Canada is involved. For anything not involving Canada, Russia, USA, Sweden, Finland, you can't give the tickets away.

That cross-check to the throat of that Swedish defenceman should be a suspension for Tkachuk.

Swedish goalie steal the game for Sweden. USA loses 1-0.

With the American loss, the Sweden vs Canada New Year's eve game could potentially determine who wins Group A.

In the second half of that game, Sweden's defence got overwhelmed... no one looked good in that group.

Puljuarvi with a shot Laine with the nice tip. 2-1 Finland.

Puljuarvi now has 5 points in 2 games
Laine has 4 points 2 games.

Anyone else think Laine has a frightening appearance? He looks extremely intense, especially when engaged in the game.
