Great article. It's weird getting caught up in contracts, millions of dollars, points, etc. Most of these guys are just people living out their dream trying to be the best hockey player they can. Very cool.

Probably not. In Russia Vodka is dirt cheap, Coke is relatively expensive.

I think it has to do with differences in the games in North America vs Russia/Europe. I read the Igor Larionov article after this one and he mentioned that a lot of Russian players don't like the NHL chip, chase, forecheck to cause turnovers and pressure, game.
