I saw an interview he did with Howard Stern and he seemed so drained. His bandmates would expect him to party every night, sing perfect at every show and keep himself clean. He had to spend $90k every month on ex-wives and kids and could never stop working. He would be treated like a despicable junkie no matter what he did. The people in his life completely tore him to shreds.

Damn that really sucks, such a great talent. The drugs man, the drugs..
I had a chance to see him last time he came through and I passed it up for 'next time', a few years ago we had box seats for STP's tour I was pumped following the song list from other venues they were playing all the hits.. then days before they cancelled the show. I never figured out if it was cause of drugs or sick or didn't sell enough tickets or what. To many missed opportunities, sad story for me right? I don't mean it that way, just mean it really sucks.

I was listening to the 90's channel on satellite radio while travelling over summer holidays and heard a bunch of old STP and it was a reminder of what a fantastic band they were. Even in the late 90's they were putting out great stuff like Sour Girl.
