2019 Best Neighbourhoods
Well, this dumb fataing list is back.
https://www.avenuecalgary.com/calgar...the-full-list/
Lake Bonavista is in its rightful place amongst the top ten; however, the preposterous NW bias also returns. Brentwood #1? Dalhousie #7? Cracksville Bowness #3? Give me a break. And I do say this with some authority. I grew up in Dalhousie. It's nice, but it's no number 7. Brentwood is fine as well, but #1 it is not.
I still think Arbour Lake is ranked fairly (it's #5), especially if you're a NW person. That's a pretty nice neighbourhood with house prices in every budget, close to COP and the mountains, has an LRT stop and Crowfoot is right there with everything you could ever need.

Heh, great, I love living in one of the worst neighbourhoods in the city.

Not really, no. Not much of a sentimentalist. Plus my community is totally rated wrong, so these people can pound sand.

What on earth are "engagement points" and why does, say, Forest Lawn have 142 of them

I've wiped my ass with more reputable studies.
This just in: Avenue Magazine....not ideal for that function.

I'm surprised Mahogany is so low, as people usually talk pretty highly about it.

I'd love to see the baby names list cross-referenced with the best neighbourhoods and the Best of Calgary business winners just to get all stupidity out of the way in one thread.

I think the consensus usually is that this ranking is usually way off its rockers for most communities.

It ranks things based on their preferences, which I enjoy because things that matter to the writers are things I really don't care one bit about, like walk score.
Forrest Lawn at 17? Well I guess if constant sirens and grocery shopping at 7-11 are your thing, by all means!

I care more about stumble score. Can I realistically stumble home from a bar to my house in this neighbourhood? Negative marks for lopsided sidewalk stones
