I have a friend who is in the trades and needs a lawyer to help resolve a contractual issue...but needs to really be a 'mean' (i.e. effective) to get the desired results.
Does anyone have any recommendation?

If it's under or even slightly over 50k you'd be much better with a small claim. And if so, you'd likely be better off with a paralegal than a lawyer. Google small claim court agent and take your pick. The top of that list is Usue. Moto is "kicking ass in court for you". The guy is pretty aggressive and knows the process well. At very least, your cost is much less. As well, small claims are different than queen's bench. The case that makes the most sense usually wins. It's easier to get your judgement and a real lawyer is less important. It's made for the general public, not lawyers.
Over 50k is harder. I'll message you my list if you want.
If you're looking for a firm specific to employment law, I would recommend checking out McGown Johnson. Wayne and Clayton there both have a lot of experience in the area.
"Mean" usually means really ineffective, actually.

Has there been an instance of discipline due to a contravening of this portion of the Code of Conduct?

Oh, if some of the lawyers I've dealt with in the past were even half respectful of this...

Yes. I've seen lawyers disbarred. Normally it also accompanies some other kind of major grievance though. So basically, you screwed up and you were an a-hole so no more law for you.

So...the happiest day of their lives?

The kind of lawyer who get disbarred for those reasons are usually the ones who aren't suited for life in the general population. If you're too much of an a-hole for the legal world, you probably won't survive very well in the regular one.

Fair enough.
