I have little doubt Tre and Burke will make the UFA for draft pick/prospect moves required to keep the rebuild moving forward. Every interview they consistently speak of patience and realism with this current team. My only fear is that some of our key UFAs are losing value with this regression season. An extra 1st rounder and 2nd rounder seems likely (Hudler/Russell).

You are exactly right about a gap we need to fill before Gillies/McDonald are ready. Looks like we will be looking for a UFA goalie come July 1 once Ramo and Hiller contracts expire. Would still like to see what we really have in Ortio but not sure how much he is going to being a chance. He must not be impressing in practice.

Hudler and Wideman need to take some time off. I don't know where these Hudler points have come from, but I have seen very very little from him this year.

Giving Wideman and Hudler's spots to someone else driving for the opportunity couldn't hurt us one bit at this point. What could happen? Columbus pass us and we have a better chance at Matthews? That's where we are at this point. I'm done with working out playoff probabilities.
