Question Tube Amplifier Repair

Hi Mighty CP!

My tube amplifier's right channel has no sound coming out. It is Transcendent Sound Mini Beast. Do you know of anyone in Calgary that can repair tube amplifier? Thanks in advance for your help!

Try Turn It Up Records and HiFi North. I have had them work on vintage gear.

There are a few guitar tube amp repair people in town as well if that doesn't pan out.

Cool! Looking at the website these look pretty simple. If you took it apart you might be able to see something obviously wrong like a disconnected ground or something. Also, the channels are split -- 3 tubes per channel, so do you have any blown tubes? If so i'd replace them (really easy), you can get them online from a place like tubedepot. You don't have to worry about matching the tube bias (from their website) -- so any tube will do as long as it's the same size. I don't actually think a blown tube should totally eliminate the sound though, just make it sound bad, but you never know and you'd want to replace it anyway.

So how does this thing sound? Looks awesome!

Chris Czech of Swamp Donkey Amps has serviced every single one of my amps (JCM800 & JCM900, Laney AOR, Blackstar HT5, Peavey 6505). Really nice guy who knows how to fix (and build) amps.

It's large and lovely to behold

I personally will happily endorse Keith at Clara Amplification. He has done some work for me in the past on other amps I own and is great to deal with. Cant wait to get me an Overdrive Rocket...
