The terrorists wouldn't have tried to keep this a secret I don't think. They'd have been shouting it from the rooftops.

B.S.
They played the pilot communications from that flight and they could not get altitiude.
It was mechanical.
Besides, who blows up a plane less than 3 minutes after it takes off?

Has Al Quaeda shouted their success on 9/11 from the rooftops?
As close as I can remember, the only gloating/celebrating I saw was in a video found in Afghanistan during that war where Bin Laden was recounting how pleasantly surprised he was when the towers actually collapsed.

They certainly didn't try to hide who had done it.
The point of being a terrorist is kinda defeated if people don't know they are being terrorized, no?
I know they are lunatics and all but they must be smart enough to know that the message is lost if everything is blamed on mechanical error. I suppose if the message they want to get out is "there are bad mechanics in America" then they'd be going at it that way, but I don't think that is what they are trying to convey.

It was certainly a suspicious incident.

"We have seen no evidence of anything other than an accident here," said Ted Lopatkiewicz, spokesman for the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board. "There has been no evidence found, from what I can tell -- at least that's been relayed to us -- that there was any criminality involved here. It appears, at least the evidence we have, is that a vertical fin came off, not that there was any kind of event in the cabin."
That's not entirely true. The FBI did indeed find traces of explosives in row 26, right above the center fuel cell, during the investigation into the crash. This information was supressed when the NTSB suddenly terminated the investigation after pressure from another government agency. The FBI was extremely frustrated by this as it fit the modus operandi of Ramsi Yousef, and was identical to the attempt made on PAL 434 on December 11, 1994. In fact, the FBI already has several links of al Qaeda to this event along with a link to the Oklahoma City bombing. Just because somene does not stand on the roof tops and shout out they did it does not mean that they did not do it. In fact, al Qaeda has never officially assumed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks. They have praised them repeatedly, but have not assumed responsibility. No roof tops, no shouting and no public dancing on this one from al Qaeda.

All these things aside, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought at the time that it was awfully coincidental that another jetliner crashed in NYC so soon after 9/11...

If they wanted the plane and debris to crash into houses, then it would make sense.
