Team is back largely in tact - Scotty Ranger retired, and the team signed ex-Roughneck Jeff Moleski. He, coupled with getting Scott Carnegie back (missed last season) will really help the defense.
I think we will see Dan McRae take another step this year and Karsen Leung will also start to become a star.

Really looking forward to the new season. While Calgary had some good success last year, I think they needed to make a few more changes to keep pace with Edmonton. That came through loud and clear in the exhibition game recently between the two. I'm not confident goaltender Poulin is consistent enough to keep them in the games against better opponents. Unfortunately, Frankie the back up isn't good enough to push Poulin to a higher level either.
I see this as our biggest weakness this year.

Cant recall but didnt Edm.get a high draft pick this past draft? they have solid D and a very good goalie.. they are the team to beat in the west i think.. pains me to say that. The Necks should be pretty good as well, but in the last few years they give up too many goals. hopefully that changes

Does Poulin suck or what?

Necks were up 9-5 at one point in the 2nd Q, they are now down 13-9 after 3 Qs. 8 straight goals against.

Poulin was weak, lots of 5 hole long shot goals... Necks have firepower but give up too many goals. Vancouver deserved the win but what is it with teams in that city constantly diving?

Yes, Poulin sucks. The "Poulin Wall" is Swiss in it's hole like nature.

I knew it was going to be a bad night when it took 45 minutes to get through the South gate. Two booths open? Really?

The Roughnecks forwards seem to quickly get deflated when they scored a hardworking goal only to have the Stealth trot down the floor right after that and lob one into the net on the next shot. Time and time again.

The goaltending problem was obvious but I couldn't really tell if the defense was doing enough to help.

Poulin was bad, but the entire team pretty much no-showed for the third quarter. Weak defence and an even weaker offence that primarily turned the ball over or ran out of time because they weren't causing enough movement in the defence so couldn't get shots off. Similar problem as we had against Edmonton in the exhibition game.

Brutal third quarter -- maybe the worst quarter of lacrosse I've seen them play. They have the offensive firepower to score 14 goals on an off night though, so that wasn't too bad.

The goaltending was abysmal and the defense gave up a lot of good chances. They'll need to be a lot better for us to beat some of the stronger teams. Poulin is just not a clutch guy -- he's a guy who looks good when the team is dominating but when they need him to come through with a big save to pull the team out of a slump he just won't make it happen. He'll let the shot in and then follow it up by letting in another softie to make things worse.

Does anyone know if there is a TV schedule for the NLL?

Rather sad that it took the loss of the NHL deal for TSN to discover the existence of NLL teams outside Toronto.

It sucks that the brass decided to raise the 2014 banner without any ceremony.

Poulin is brutal, IMO a clear weak spot on the team.

Team played poorly in the 3rd Q but his weak goals really added to them being deflated.

Team views it as a failure. They don't want to celebrate something they didn't finish off.

looks like another loss, clearly they cant keep the ball out of their net... first 18 goals and tonight 17... not good at all...... didnt see the game but i am guessing the "poulin wall" wasnt much of a wall.

Is that just your view or is that official?
A lot of us season ticket holders don't view it as a failure at all and were looking forward to seeing it raised.

That's what the box score indicates. Outshot them 58-45. Poulin made only 28 saves. We need an upgrade in net. Poulin just doesn't seem able to handle the load any more.

Our next game is against Edmonton too. Based on the pre-season game, I probably won't even bother for this one.
